Creating a new User Group

The procedure for creating a new User Group is as follows:

  1. Add [INS]
  2. Code. Enter the Code or short description to describe the Group
  3. Description. Enter the full description
  4. Save [F9].

Adding Members to the Group

This is not achieved within the User Group Maintenance <UGM> function. By clicking on the "Details" header, viewing the list of members is the only option. To add a member to the group,

  1. Enter the User Maintenance <UM> function.
  2. Select the User to View.
  3. Edit [F2]
  4. Click on the down arrow within the box "User Belongs to this Group" and select
  5. Save [F9]

Note. A User may only be a member of one group at a time.

Adding the Security Rights of the Group

  1. Click on the header "Security Rights"
  2. Click to highlight on the appropriate Security rights within the lefthandside table "Security Rights"
  3. Click on the "Add" icon.
  4. They will now be transferred to the righthandside table "Owned Security Rights"
  5. Save [F9]

Adding the Screen Permissions of the Group

  1. Click on the header "Screen Permissions"
  2. Click to highlight on the appropriate screens within the the lefthandside table "Inaccessible Screens"
  3. Click on the "Add" icon.
  4. They will now be transferred to the righthandside table "Accessible Screens"
  5. Save [F9]
